Donald Trump Jr. Publishes DM's With WikiLeaks From During The Election

Last night, the Atlantic reported that Donald Trump Jr. had exchanged direct messages with WikiLeaks during last year’s campaign. Trump Jr. was a senior adviser to the campaign.
Shortly afterward, Trump Jr. decided to control the story as best he could and publish the DM’s himself.
WikiLeaks of course published hundreds of thousands of documents during last year’s campaign, many of which were emails damaging to Hillary Clinton and the DNC. US Intelligence officials have confirmed they believe Russia was behind the hacking of these documents, which fuels the belief that Russia carried out significant efforts to harm Hillary and help Trump.
15 minutes after WikiLeaks DM’d Jr. saying, “Hey Donald… there’s many great stories there the press are missing,” candidate Trump tweeted this.
My views on this are very similar to my views on Trump Jr. taking the potential dirt on Hillary meeting with Russia — OBVIOUSLY he’s going to mix it up in the DM’s with WikiLeaks. One million percent. Why the fuck wouldn’t he? Some politically moral compass guiding him away from that path? lol. Come on. Look I’m not saying it’s ideal. Obviously we’d all love to live in some peachy world where elections focus solely on campaign’s ideas and positivity. And you know what? I’d like to be pimps from Oakland or cowboys from Arizona but it’s not Halloween. Grow up, Peter Pan. Count Chocula. Look, we’ve had a million elections and guess what, oppo research and negative ads have rocked them all. Trump Jr. isn’t some seasoned political operative with an intimate relationship to election law. You’re damn right if WikiLeaks claims to have droves of information that will help his father and harm Hillary Clinton, he’s pursuing that lead and alerting Donnie about anything of note.
It’s not perfect, it might not be “right,” but it’s reality. It helped get the win. If you’re surprised or upset by this you’re a moron. You will never win an election. On top of all of that, even CNN writes that simply being in communication with WikiLeaks in October 2016 isn’t illegal.
WikiLeaks had begun publishing hacked DNC emails for several moths before Donald Trump Jr. responded to their direct messages to him. Simply being in communication with WikiLeaks in the fall of 2016 — and even taking direction about a suggested tweet from them (Trump Jr. tweeted a link to the WikiLeaks archive on October 14) isn’t illegal.
