Pretty Cool Watching Justin Verlander Pitch In His Backyard As A Kid

This is what it’s all about right here. Justin Verlander collected his 2,500th career strikeout last night in a complete game shutout against the Angels, he’s got a Cy Young and an MVP on his shelf, he leads the world in just about every major statistical category that you’d look at to evaluate a pitcher since joining the Astros, he’s got over $200 million in the bank between his MLB salaries and sponsorships, he’s been on the cover of video games, he’s won a World Series, and he’s married to a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, but it all started right here in the backyard. That wouldn’t be the last time that Verlander would get that excited to watch the tape after he was done. I also didn’t realize Portnoy knew JV back then. That’s awesome.
