Let's Just Cut The Shit. Sweet Potato Fries Are Better Than Regular Fries

sweet-potato-fries

I want you all to picture this scenario for me real quick because I know we’ve all been there before–you’re out to eat at a restaurant. You order your meal and the waiter/waitress says to you, “and that also comes with a side of fries. Would you like regular or sweet potato?”. It’s probably one of the dumbest questions that one human being could ask another. Because without fail you think to yourself, hey, sweet potatoes fries would actually be a great treat right now. Sure thing, I’ll go with the sweet potato fries.

But now here is the thing. Why do sweet potato fries have to be considered a treat? Why are sweet potato fries not just considered standard at this point? Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against regular french fries. They are quite delicious, especially whilst coming in waffle form. But regular fries don’t elicit the same type of “oh hell yeah” kind of reaction that sweet potato fries do. They don’t have the ability to instantly change your entire outlook on life once you hear that they’re an option.

And here is where, I believe, sweet potato fries really reign supreme. It’s all about the condiments, baby. There are so many options when it comes to sweet potato fries. You can go with a classic ketchup. You can mix it up a little and go with some special sauce. You can get fancy with it and go with a nice aioli. A garlic aioli, a sriracha aioli. Really any kind of aioli you want. You can even treat sweet potato fries like a desert. Sprinkle some brown sugar on those bastards and hit them with some sort of cinnamon dip. While you can obviously pair all of those condiments with your standard french fry, the combination just isn’t as strong as it is with the sweet potato.

Another reason why sweet potato fries are better? Because you can easily trick yourself into thinking they are healthy. You can put back an entire basket of sweet potato fries and tell yourself that they’re a super food, and that at that point it’s basically like you just went to the gym. You’re gonna be the fittest guy you know because you just housed your body weight in sweet potato fries. No need for a treadmill. No need to get on a bench press. Just order up some SPF’s, pair it with an aioli of your choosing and you’ll have a 6-pack in no time. You don’t get that with regular fries.
