Zero Blog Thirty Listeners Hook An Army Unit Up With A Deployment's Worth Of Coffee
Back at the end of March, a friend and classmate of mine reached out to let me know he had a good friend deployed to Afghanistan whose Army unit was out of coffee. Many of you are thinking, “Cons, how is it possible that our military could run out of coffee?” You see, in order to take the fight to our enemy, we often need to build remote outposts that are very far from our larger bases overseas. These outposts are sometimes so remote that we can only resupply them every few weeks. Even then, we can only provide necessary items up to a certain amount due the capacity on our vehicles. As a result, some items like coffee disappear very quickly leaving our troops without any joe. Coffee is the lifeblood of our military, especially when deployed, so I sent out the following tweet looking for some goodwill
Buddy, the response was immediate and overwhelming. I received word that these troops received enough coffee to last the entire deployment. That’s a shit ton of coffee!
Thank you to all the Stoolies who decided to pitch in for our Soldiers. I am always amazed when Stoolies come together for those in need. I am especially grateful when we help those who serve. Thank you!
