A Formerly Gay (wink wink) Pulse Night Club Survivor Is In Hot Water For Using His Facebook Page To Promote Conversion Therapy

Source - A man who survived the Pulse nightclub terror attack has claimed ‘he is no longer gay’ after joining a controversial Christian group promoting ‘freedom from homosexuality’.

Ruiz now claims to have ‘changed’ and is promoting events ‘celebrating freedom from homosexual/transgender lifestyles’.

In a Facebook post showing images of himself with some of the victims of the Pulse shooting, and a photo of himself in hospital, Ruiz writes:

‘Going through old pictures of the night of Pulse, a memory were my struggles of perversion, heavy drinking to drown out everything and having promiscuous sex that led to HIV my struggles were real! The enemy had its grip and now God has taken me from that moment and has given me Christ Jesus I’v grown to know his love in a deeper level.

‘I should of been number 50 but now I have the chance to live in relationship and not religion not just loving christ but being in love with christ and sharing his love I know who I am and I am not defined with who the enemy says I use to be but who christ Jesus says I am. [sic]’

Ruiz published the rambling and misspelled post in support for a religious organisation called ‘Voice of the Voiceless’.

The Christian group states on its website that its mission is ‘to defend the rights of former homosexuals, individuals with unwanted same-sex attraction, and their families.’

Is spring time #conversiontherapyszn? I don’t know, but it seems like every year around this time a bunch of stories come out claiming to have cured people of ‘the gay’. Unfortunately, this particular story is attached to the Pulse night club shooting. So, before I start roasting Luis Javier Ruiz for his newfound sexuality, it’s only right that we acknowledge the victims of the massacre, their families, and their loved ones. Gone but not forgotten.

Moving on. I don’t want to go too hard on Luis because I genuinely think he’s an idiot but I have a few things I want to say. First, Luis Javier Ruiz is a gay guy. Those eyebrows don’t lie, Luis.

You’re gayer than Gigi Gorgeous at a Lady Gaga concert  riding a unicorn. Just because you grossed yourself out by sleeping around doesn’t mean you can blame it on your sexuality. You weren’t confused, you were a slut. There’s a difference.

He’s aligned himself with a group called “Voice of the Voiceless’ which coincidentally is the name of a Rage Against The Machine song.

Their mission statement reads like what I imagine Mike Pence’s inner monologue sounds like.

The mission of Voice of the Voiceless is to defend the rights of former homosexuals, individuals with unwanted same-sex attraction…we also support the faith-based community and work actively in the United States to defend the constitutional rights of all Americans to share their views of homosexuality in the public forum. We support similar international efforts and provide assistance, whenever possible, to individuals and organizations abroad who align with our mission and goals.

Normally I’d have no problem with someone putting themselves through conversion therapy because I think it’s funny. The issue that I have with Luis is that he’s using a bunch of dead to people to spread his message. Not to mention stuff like this is starting to pop up online.

Fake news. Is there a chance he actually thinks he’s straight? Sure, but even I think that after I have a few cocktails. Then I splash cold water on my face, close my eyes, and pray it away. The bottom line is Luis needs an education and probably hug. He’s straight now but he’ll be back bigger and gayer than ever. They always come back.
