I hate clickbait titles. Back in the day when every Dick and Sally wanted to get clicks on their web log (blog), it was all about clickbait. Drawing people in with fascinating titles, making people so anxious that they had no choice but to click. It works like magic, no doubt about it.
But here at Barstool, we don’t do that. We have a little something called pride. We have a little something called integrity. We will never sell out, ever. Not even if we are sleeping on a Leesa Matress smoking our Blu while eating a Dunkin Go 2. But at the same time, click bait titles are how BuzzFeed became a $750 million company. Clickbait titles and figuring out how to take advantage of the Facebook algorithm, or course.
But then…
Yikes!
And so that’s why I will never do clickbait titles.
