The Road To Back-To-Back: It's Opening Day For Our Beloved World Series Champion Houston Astros

Oh man. Oh man. It’s Astros opening day and we got The Big Rope Shooter Justin Verlander on the bump in Houston. First pitch goes at 3:30Eastern and, for a stay at home blogger, nothing could be better. I’m gonna have an iced tea, nachos, and a boner ready to go.

It’ll be interesting to see how these Astros do with way bigger expectations. Many are saying that they will be better this year than last year. The pitching is better after adding Gerrit Cole from the Pirates. The starting 5 in Houston is insane. Justin Verlander, Dallas Keuchel, Lance McCullers Jr and all 24 curveballs, Gerrit Cole, and Charlie Morton.

The hitters have been in huge games on the biggest stage (talkin World Series), so it’s easy to see why people expect more this year. I’m not sure if they’ll be better but even if they are as good, that’s uhhh pretty good. Sabermetrics.

My projection for the Astros? Based on my log, I think we will see 103 wins.

If you cant wait for some real games, let’s take a look back at last year’s playoff.
