So last night the world gathered around their televisions for the highly anticipated Stormy Daniels 60 minutes interview where she talked about banging Trump 12 years ago. Who really gives a shit? Trump banged porn stars left and right, what is the real story here? What I was actually looking forward to was the story afterwards about the most love-able NBA superstar right now, Giannis Antetokounmpo. There’s absolutely nothing to hate about this man and after watching this 60 minutes story on his back story I hope the rest of the country took notice.

First off his hands are a FOOT LONG.

Excuse me? Imagine holding a basketball like it’s a goddamn tennis ball?

60 minutes dove into his life growing up in poverty, which was incredibly tough as his family lived in a tiny apartment in Athens, Greece. Giannis drops this line that will melt your heart.

“Yeah it was tough, we didn’t have a lot of money but we had a lot of happiness so we weren’t broke on happiness.”

Giannis and his brother would peddle goods on the streets selling CDs, DVDs, watches, etc to make enough money to survive. This is Giannis Antetokounmpo we’re talking about and he resorted to selling things on the streets to survive. That’s fucking INSANE!!

Eventually they tried to play basketball and make a living that way, a good decision looking back. Giannis and his brother made around $500 a month playing in a second tier division Greek basketball league, but could barely afford their own shoes. His brother, Thanasis, claims one game they had to trade off wearing shoes when the other came out of the game. WHAT!!!

Now Giannis is in the first year of a four year contract worth $100 million. He’s about to have his own signature shoe from Nike and he’s putting an entire NBA team on his back. The best part about all of this is that none of it has gone to his head. He lives in a two bedroom rental apartment with his mother, girlfriend, and brother. He wants to keep a low profile and just play basketball. Going from his first year where he just averaged 6.8 points and 4.4 rebounds a game as a super raw player to now 27, 10 and 5 Giannis has risen to super stardom amongst the names of Curry, Durant, LeBron. Oh yeah, he’s only TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD. I’m sure America will find something to hate about this guy in the coming years because that’s what our society does. They did it to LeBron James, they did it to Steph Curry, and they’ll do it to Giannis. I find it impossible to hate this guy and his story is remarkable. The NBA playoffs in Milwaukee last year were incredible as that place got as loud as humanly possible and I cannot wait for it to happen all again. Fuck Stormy Daniels and Anderson Cooper making that such a big deal last night, the world should all be captivated by Giannis.
