Tiger Woods GRINDS For An Even Par 72, Needs To Move On Moving Day

Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard - Round Two

Interesting day for Tiger and by interesting I mean sluggish. It was meh. It was very average, so much so in fact that he shot exactly even par 72. For him that’s well below average, and all that seems very fitting for what I just watched.

It all began with a vicious snipe hook into the trees on the first tee.

An opening bogey followed by 7 pars, including on the two par-5s, tells you a lot about what we witnessed. Just wasn’t much going on, good or bad. He didn’t hit it great but stayed out of big trouble.

He then three-jacked the 9th green after hitting a great drive followed by a shitty 9-iron. This was the low point. Felt like we could be slipping into an uuuugly ass day.

But Tiger’s Tiger. He parred 10 and 11 then birdied the 12th to get back to 1-over on the day.

On 15, he yanked his approach a few yards and ended up in this situation.

But did this with it.

One of the great grinders of all time.

On 16 he gave himself a great eagle bid after lashing from thick rough with an 8-iron. Barely missed, parred 17, and came to 18 at even par for the day.

He piped a 3-wood bullet 325 down the left side.

Then left himself a great look for bird on a green he knows better than anyone else knows anything else on earth.

Somehow it missed. Just not meant to be today, but an even-par round that, for many others, could’ve been 3 or 4-over.

Scorecard.

Tiger’s currently 7 off the lead and in a tie for 17th. Bay Hill traditionally plays tough over the weekend — we ain’t done.

Moving day tomorrow. Red shirt Sunday. Let’s get it.
