Big BIG things were popping on the Internet last night folks. And specifically on Twitch, with seemingly ALL of 2 am Twitter watching the madness unfold like it was an actual coliseum. Fortnite and video games as a whole traveled to another dimension thanks to the Champagne Papi himself, Drizzy Drake, who hopped on the sticks to survive with a pro.

The streamer above, Ninja, has been in the eSports world for awhile and was best known for his Halo skills before Fortnite recently. Articles have said he makes up to 560k A MONTH off streaming and with his newfound fame that should sky rocket even more. Check out what happened when he mentioned you can get a free subscription month on Twitch using Amazon Prime…

And when things got going on the island, it was an experience unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Multiple people that have ZERO interest in video games were texting me like giddy school children. ANY Tweet about Drake + Fortnite was going viral. Hell Gametime even made it into the Twitter Moments thread about the whole thing. It was an actually historic night I felt blessed to be a part of. And that was all BEFORE JuJu Smith-Schuster and Travis Scott join the Squad…

Rappers were going ham, athletes wanted in, Logic got phased out, KimDotCom got literally booted for trying to cozy up to Drake with some free Slurp…

And like I said, this wasn’t just contained inside the video game world. This was a motherfucking INTERNATIONAL EVENT. It felt like real magic in the air to be honest. You might even say it was God’s Plan…

It was an amazing night of Earth. And an amazing night for Twitch. Sure me and Smitty will never EVER be as good as Ninja with our skills but we saw how worlds can collide in the most beautiful way on that platform. They set a new streaming record with over 630,000 concurrent viewers and more importantly, opened up a lot of eyes out there.

The only downside? We learned that Drake likes pineapple on his pizza. DAMN.

Can’t win em all I guess…

But he was generous with his items and for that we thank him. And also for just putting so much goddamn food on our table. All praise to the most high, 6 God.

PS: Smitty and Frankie Borelli were ALSO streaming Fortnite last night on Twitch. Were they a more iconic duo? I’ll wait…
