FINALLY Hulu Is Adding A "Play Random Episode" Button
I simply cannot believe this took so long to get in place, as it’s the biggest no brainer in the history of no brainers. A random episode button is the sitcom viewer’s version of the college football playoff: we’ve always know it made so much goddamn sense and have been baffled by the lack of execution.
Sometimes I don’t want to watch a series progression in order, why was that so hard to understand? It’s like having your music on shuffle when an old Fall Out Boy song comes on. You would probably never seek that out yourself, but when it comes on you’re transported back to high school and you rock your ass off, remembering you love going down, down in an earlier round.
Shows and movies that you don’t actively seek out are just exponentially more enjoyable. When you stumble on a movie, like The Patriot, on the guide then you can clear your whole afternoon because you’re not getting off the couch. Now you wouldn’t have rented that ondemand, but the surprise is invigorating and sends some militia blood to your penis. It has always been the one feeling you couldn’t replicate with streaming, and now we have it and I couldn’t be happier.

Also, you’re welcome because I made a public demand for this three weeks ago and I’m sure that’s what caused them to do this, because there’s no way this is a very difficult technology they’ve been working on and testing for months.
