Chris Lilley Is Getting His Own Netflix Show And I Couldn't Be More Excited

Source - Australian comedian Chris Lilley, who created and starred in series such as Summer Heights High and Angry Boys, is to front a 10-episode comedy for Netflix.

Details of the show are being kept under wraps, but the order was revealed by Annastacia Palaszczuk, Premier of the Queensland territory, who announced that the series, which will film between March and June 2018, would generate a A$6.35M ($4.9M) boost for the local economy.

In the words of Kenny Powers, “finally, mother fucker.” Chris Lilley is way too talented and way too funny not to be on TV. He’s like the Mike Myers of Australia. If you’ve never seen his work check out Summer Heights High and Angry Boys. It’s some of the funniest television of all time. Jonah Takaluah, Gran, and Mr. G are right up there with Michael Scott. He plays all his characters and they’re all so different. One second one he’s a pushy Japanese mother forcing his son to be gay and the next he’s an ADD ridden middle schooler drawing dictations.

I could sit here and write five-thousand words explaining why the show is funny and it wouldn’t do it justice. So here are some clips of my favorite characters in no particular order.

There’s no release date or details  for his new show other than the fact that Netflix ordered ten episodes. They’re slated to film between March and June so I’d imagine the show would be released in the fall. Whatever the case, it’s going to be worth the wait.
