I recently came across the above tweet and pretty much fell down a massive music rabbit hole in search for the answer. My instant reaction was to look at some of the top responses and see if there was an obvious one, and I think there is, but the ongoing discussion has been so much fun that I felt the need to toss this question out to the Stoolies.

For my money, nothing is gonna top Thriller/Beat It/Billie Jean on ‘Thriller’ if “strongest” is the criteria. I don’t think I even need to defend that, as all three are GARGANTUAN smash hits that still chart to this day, but there’s some seriously great contenders that you should take a look at…
