Tom Crean Correctly Predicting the Exact Play Oklahoma Used to Seal the Kansas Win was Better Than Any Tony Romo Call

Pittsburgh v Indiana

I’ve heard all football season about how Tony Romo is correctly calling plays and how everyone is amazed at how he can do that. Well, folks, let me introduce you to noted basketball guy Tom Crean – the analyst. With Oklahoma up 2 and 31 seconds to go last night against Kansas Crean correctly predicted the exact play the Sooners ran to get Brady Manek an open three. Listen to the call here:

He nailed it perfectly. I have to admit, Tom Crean is absolutely awesome in this new role. Everyone was forced to make a super hot take on his time at Indiana because of how he coaches and his personality. Many felt that he was a bit of letdown during his time there, while I think he did one of the better rebuilding jobs in the country. I didn’t necessarily have a problem with him being let go, but the fact people don’t want him to coach their teams is just outright dumb.

That said, he’s a must-listen when he’s in studio and now calling games. He found his calling card quite nicely and fits in well – especially in the studio. He doesn’t necessarily force any topic or talk over anyone and does a great job of breaking the game down quickly and for everyone. He was even better on the Oklahoma/Kansas call last night. I’d like to think his appearance on PMT had a role in this, so congrats to those guys. I think Tony Romo could take a lesson or two.
