Zion Williamson Commits To Duke

IMG_4617

Well, there you have it. Zion Williamson, the human highlight film and No. 2 recruit in the class of 2018 has committed to Duke .

Zion made a name for himself with the highlight dunks and ridiculous athleticism, but who is he as a player? He’s a little unorthodox due to his size at 6’6″ but he’s built like a four, especially in today’s small ball era at the collegiate level. He’s not going to kill you shooting the ball, in fact that’s a weakness of his. What he’ll do though is attack the glass and look to create off the bounce. He has a pretty good handle for his size and likes to size guys up by getting downhill and looking to either cross over. He’s a good rebounder due to his length (6’11” wingspan), athleticism and motor. The one thing that Williamson does is simply plays hard at all times.

Zion is joining a loaded group with Tre Jones, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish next year at Duke. He’ll fit in nicely next to Barrett and should get some easy buckets with the way Jones can set people up. It was a bit of a shock that he went to Duke considering Clemson was the favorite, but either way K continues to go on a tear on the recruiting trail recently.
