NOTRE DAME, Ind. - While the Boston College series next weekend will be a big one for University of Notre Dame head baseball coach Mik Aoki, it won’t be because the fourth-year Irish skipper is coaching against his former program. Instead it will be because all the ticket revenue generated from the weekend will be donated to the Pete Frates #3 Fund, which is a foundation set up for Aoki’s former player Pete Frates, who is battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis more commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The Irish and Eagles will play a three-game set at Chicago State’s Cougar Stadium in Chicago, Ill. Game times are set for 7:05 p.m., 2:05 p.m. and 1:05 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All three times are central.

Wanted to post this again in case anyone missed it earlier in the week. If people remember back in December we did the Polar Plunge for Pete Frates, who is a huge Stoolie, and his ALS foundation. Well this weekend Boston College is playing Notre Dame in a 3 game baseball series and because ND is having their fields in South Bend worked on all 3 games will be played on the South Side at Chicago State. The coach for Notre Dame was the coach for Pete when he was at Boston College so it’s a connection between school and Boston/Chicago. All ticket revenue will be donated to Pete’s Fund. So I thought it’s a perfect chance for Stoolies to rally for a great cause, watch some Baseball and do something good. I’m going to plan on going out to the Saturday game which is at 2:05. If you’re in the area or have nothing to do all weekend stop by and watch some baseball and do your part in finding a cure for this awful disease.

Also if you can’t make it out but still want to donate you can do so here. LINK
