Giants Lose The First Game Of The Geno Smith Era (And Maybe The Last Game Of The Ben McAdoo Era)

New York Giants vs Oakland Raiders

Not much to really say about that game other than it felt like a typical December game between two teams out of contention save for the Giant elephant in the room. Geno’s stat line was pretty meh. 21/34 for 212 yards with 1 TD and no picks but 2 lost fumbles in Raiders territory that were absolute killers for an offense that will never be mistaken for explosive. Evan Engram continued to look great for Big Blue and Sterling Shepard reminded Giants fans of what the receiving corps once was with some nice plays. The defense couldn’t bail out the offense and gave up 401 yards to an offense that was 19th in the NFL before the game started and was also missing its top 2 wide receivers. Not great!

Now the real fun begins however, as Ben McAdoo will be on #HugWatch in case ownership fires him before the team leaves the locker room, on #PlaneWatch to see if he actually boards the Giants plane back to New York, and then #PlaneWatch2 to see if the team threw him out of said plane during the flight home. And every Giants fan will jump to their phone every time they get an alert from the Bristol network that shall not be named or Ian Rapaport starts a tweet with BREAKING. But McAdoo has already made it quite clear that he will be showing up to MetLife tomorrow unless he is told not to.

And to be honest, I’m pretty sure he will still show up for the next 10 years even if he does get fired because McAdoo was dead ringer for Milton from Office Space before he got his movie villain haircut.

Oh yeah and the Giants new starting quarterback was flashing a camel toe on TV. That was pretty fun too.

P.S. Shout out to Jimmy G for getting his first win today. The Giants may end up being the real winners of the Patriots-49ers trade after all is said and done!
