The Video Of North Korean Soldiers' Reaction Time During A Defection Is Pretty Damn Impressive

Pat blogged it a little bit ago. He said the North Korean soldiers were laugh out loud bad. I dont agree, pals. Let’s look at some of the things that happened to get that many soldiers in place so quickly.

1. The truck was speeding away and toward the border of their most hated enemy. They had about 120 seconds for all of this to take place.

In that short period of time, a soldier on watch had to recognize what he was seeing; call the dispatch desk to report what he was seeing; continue to monitor that his initial thoughts were correct.

2. The dispatch desk had to take down the details; relay those details to the reaction force; still be in contact with the spotter on the ground.

3. The reaction force had to get the information, process it, and come from multiple angles to meet the defector at the possible point of defection.

4. Fire off some rounds at a defector while also not getting shot for being over the line of demarcation.

Pretty fucking incredible. As far as them missing and not killing the dude, going from a full out sprint to firing precision shots on a moving target is extremely difficult. Not to mention, you KNOW that you are going to be judged on your tactical performance by a regime that straps generals to poles and shoots artillery rounds at them if they make a mistake as small as sitting down before Dear Leader. While you are getting ready to pull the trigger, so many things have to be going through your head.

Now the world has the video so you know Kim Jung Un does too. Those responders are on tape. I wonder what will happen to them.

Now on to South Korea.

The dudes, who had to low crawl into the woods at night to retrieve a dead or dying or possibly even playing possum North Korea soldier, had some serious courage. Rescuing and giving aide to your enemy isnt easy but it’s what decent countries do. Credit to South Korea for not just letting the guy lay there and bleed out.

What an insane video.
