Miami Herald- A county supervisor died Tuesday morning in a bizarre grain bin accident near Missouri Valley, Iowa. Russ Kurth, 63, and another man, were checking on a door of the bin that had been leaking corn, Harrison County Sheriff Pat Sears told The Daily Nonpareil newspaper in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As the men approached the bin, the door malfunctioned or failed for some reason and burst open. Corn came gushing out like an avalanche, burying Kurth.

I didn’t wanna blog this but my hands are simply tied. I might not ever be able to return to my homeland after writing this blog. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up and blogging this story might mean there are riots in the streets upon my arrival. I might as well cancel my plane tickets. The reaction to Dave shitting on bacon-covered breakfast pizza won’t hold a candle to this. My parents are gonna have to move. But I have to. It’s my duty as a blogger. Cause an Iowa guy dying in an avalanche of corn isn’t funny but it’s also not not funny. I can’t not blog a dude dying in the most Iowa way possible. I can’t and I won’t be deterred by the people who will call this insensitive. And hey, this guy probably died doing what he loved. If you really think about it, this is the most honorable death an Iowa person can suffer. In fact, shame on the people who aren’t seeing this for the beautiful thing that it is. Thoughts to the family but this is part of the imaginary oath I just made up when you’re born in the great state of Iowa. Live by the corn, die by the corn. RIC.
