Tyrese Says If The Rock Is In Fast And Furious 9 Then Tyrese Won't Be
(Variety) – Tyrese Gibson has threatened to quit the “Fast and the Furious” franchise amid his ongoing feud with co-star Dwayne Johnson. Gibson posted on Instagram Wednesday, telling “loyal fans and loved ones from OUR Fast universe” that he won’t appear in “Fast 9” if Johnson is involved. “I’m sorry to announce that if [Dwayne] is in Fast 9, there will no more Roman [Pearce]. You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours,” Gibson captioned a selfie of him, Johnson, and Vin Diesel. Gibson is currently in a legal battle with his ex-wife over custody of their daughter.

Look, I love Roman Pearce as the comic relief and ladies man of the crew. He’s a good character and a pretty funny dude, but we’re talking about Dwayne Johnson, the biggest movie star on the planet. This is like forcing a man to choose between the love of his life and some chick he fucked in an Arby’s bathroom, it’s a no brainer. You were a good time, don’t get me wrong, but there’s no future for the relationship. Imagine I went into Peter Chernin’s office and said IT’S EITHER ME OR BIG CAT, I’d get laughed out of the room. That’s what Tyrese just did.
Tyrese, pal, don’t rock the boat when things are going well. Your worth to the franchise came largely from being Paul Walker’s best friend, as soon as that car crashed you should’ve decided “I’m gonna just keep my head down and ride this gravy train as long as I can.” You fucked up.
Plus, stop referring to “the family” like Dwayne Johnson didn’t save that fucking thing. Fast was circling the drain then The Rock came to the recuse and reinvigorated everything. He was the human embodiment of a couple’s retreat that mom and dad went on to save the marriage. Without Dwayne Johnson the Fast family falls apart 4 movies ago.
PS – Variety did him dirty by adding that “Gibson is currently in a legal battle with his ex-wife over custody” line. That wasn’t necessary, guys.
