Football Vs Baseball, Who Ya Got?

I don’t care what the ratings say. I don’t care what league is more popular. Certainly don’t about who makes more money. Games like last nite prove why baseball is the greatest sport on earth. The drama of last night’s game blows anything I’ve ever seen in football out of the water. Including the Giants Pats Super Bowl. Inning after inning after inning the Rangers trying to finish, the Cards earning their way back in. The ups and downs, the swings back and forth. No clock to hide behind. No penalties or flags. Just pure me vs. you until its over.

I understand the notion that baseball is “boring.” Thats something simple minded creatures say. Some people need big tackles and fast play to be entertained. Its like a child who likes bright colors and flashing lights. But I’ll take the tension and drama in between pitches of a tie game in the late innings any day over that shit. A big time home run will always be more dramatic than a touchdown. An epic pitching performance will always be more memorable than a quarterback having a big game. There’s a reason why all the biggest and best moments in sports history are baseball plays. You’ll always remember people like Dave Roberts and Aaron Boone even though they’re nobodies. There’s a reason why “Collapses” and embarrassing errors and strike outs in baseball live on forever in infamy. There’s a reason why people like Steve Bartman and Bill Buckner unfortunately had their lives ruined. Because baseball is the most dramatic and important sport there is. Over 100 years after its inception we’re still seeing things that have never happened in baseball.

Football is amazing for what it is. Once a week. Big time party. Tailgating. Eating and boozing. Some exciting plays. Great stuff for ESPNs Top 10. Gambling. Girls wearing football jerseys at the bar. Its an entire culture built around having a blast on Sundays. Which is fine. But the actual sport for the most part is a revolving door of faceless QBs and RBs fitting into a system. 16 times a year. Its the easy sport to root for. Its the simple man’s game. And most importantly there’s no 7 game series and there’s no drama until the occasional 2 minute drill. There’s just no comparison.

I’m sure I’ll be in the minority because you’re all simpletons but lets vote:

Vote 1 for football and vote 10 for baseball
