Mr. Lahey Has Passed Away. #SHIT

(CBC) “John Dunsworth, a Nova Scotia actor best known as the irreverent trailer park manager Jim Lahey, has passed away at the age of 71.

Dunsworth played Mr. Lahey on Trailer Park Boys, and is also known for his portrayal of Dave Teagues in the series Haven. 

“With heavy and broken hearts the family of John F. Dunsworth would like to let people know that our amazing husband, father and grandfather John Dunsworth has passed away,” his daughter Sarah Dunsworth said in a statement to CBC.”

RIP Mr. Lahey. May your ashes be blown far and wide across the shitscape by the whispering winds of shit.

There was a solid year of my life where I couldn’t fall asleep before watching an episode of Trailer Park Boys and Mr. Lahey was always one of the main reasons I kept coming back.  While I haven’t seen many of the new TPB episodes they’ve released on NetFlix, Lahey’s Shit analogies will be with me forever.

Also, let’s take a moment to appreciate what an amazing actor John Dunsworth was.  It’s hard for my brain to process that he wasn’t a drunk lunatic in real life while watching him in character as Jim Lahey “on the liquor”. Truly one of the most incredible performances of our generation.

He wasn’t a one trick pony either. He could go from playing an alcoholic psycho in TPB to winning awards for his performances in theater productions such as “The Merchant of Venice” and “Death of a Salesman”.

If this blog can expose just a few more people to the Trailor Park Supervisor Mr. Lahey than it will have done it’s job.

RIP in Peace Jim Lahey (John Dunsworth). You’re with the liquor now.

P.S. Gotta give props to Jim Lahey for breaking down boundaries and being in one of the first openly homosexual relationships on TV (don’t fact check me). People forget that.
