DC Sports Has Now Gone A Not-So-Nice 69 Seasons Without A Conference Title

Thanks for the fun stat, SportsCenter! 69 straight season without a conference title..not so nice! Do you realize how long ago 1998 is? Kerry Woood was pitching for the Cubs! Internet porn was merely a rumor whispered about in dark pool halls. The #GoPresGo crowd wasn’t even born yet! Buy yet, no conference championships for any of the 4 DC sports teams- Skins, Caps, Wiz, or the Nats.

Now, the Nats have been nothing but great since they got here a mere 11 years ago. 4 division titles in 11 years is nothing to scuff at. But 0 playoff series wins in that time…not great! It’s been tough:

The Cardinals series, the Giants series, and now this Cubs series. I don’t believe in curses, but you’re kind of an idiot if you don’t think we’re cursed.

And Dusty…

Shrug.

Who will be the team to break the streak? Obviously the Caps right? Maybe the Wiz win the East? The Skins make an improbable run? At least we still have alcohol. Alcohol is our friend.
