Shirtless Man Catching A Fish In His Flooded Living Room Is A Symbol Of Resilience To The Hurricane

HuffPo- Watch a determined man snare a fish that swam into the living room of a Houston homeflooded by Harvey.

In a viral video posted on Facebook over the weekend by Viviana Saldana, the man comically dives a few times and comes up empty. Then he falls to his knees to grab the catch.

Given the fish hanging on the wall in the clip, this guy perhaps liked fishing already. Now he’ll have a fish story for the ages.

“Why go out looking for food when the food is coming to our living room?” Viviana Saldana wrote in the post.

Nice to see a family making light of a pretty terrible situation. Can’t help but admire people who are laughing and splashing around in the 2 feet of standing water in their living room. I’ll tell you, I’d be sitting in the corner with my head in my hands, but clearly the people of Houston are more resilient than me. Almost thought he was going to ask for a snorkel and some spearfishing equipment. The first two dives were slightly unruly, but third time’s the charm. Note the fish on the wall. This guy has definitely caught fish in more adverse conditions. Hell, if you told him he could choose between heading out on a boat at 5AM with a bunch of fishing equipment and rolling seas, feeling nauseous and freezing the whole time, or bare-handing fish in his living room in jeans, I’m sure he’d choose the latter. Nice catch, friend, and best of luck to all the people in Houston who have been affected by this storm.
