Dustin Johnson Hit An Absolutely Ridiculous Drive To Beat Jordan Spieth In A Playoff At The Northern Trust

Yet another week that ended up being extremely #GoodForGolf with a showdown between Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson being decided in a playoff at the Northern Trust. It didn’t look like it was gonna be much of a showdown when the day began. Like at all. At one point Spieth had a 5-shot lead and it looked to be a boring Sunday afternoon at Glen Oaks. Then everything changed. There were a whole bunch of great shots down the stretch that could’ve easily ended up being being the shot of the day. Spieth’s putt on 17. DJ’s putt on 18. But no. None will stand out more than DJ’s MONSTER drive at 18 on the first playoff hole.

I mean just look at this shit

Jordan Spieth is the greatest putter on the planet. He’s one of the greatest putters to ever play the game of golf but HOW do you expect him to compete with that? There’s a lot of talk surrounding golf about how guys who can hit it 500 miles are ruining the sport. Spieth rallies against that idea with his insane putter but today was a clear example where a guy like DJ can bomb his way to a win. I’m not complaining. That was awesome. I’ll take watching the #1 golfer in the world go to battle against the #3 golfer in the world every fucking Sunday for the rest of my life. #GoodForGolf

Oh and one last thing
