OddsShark Presents Glenny & The Bets

Well friends, last week was a tough week as we operated at a 33.333% clip going 1-2. 26-11 still looks pretty fly. Either way we are officially out of the water. The good stuff is finally here.

You hear that sound? Oh that’s nothing, just the sound of COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Not only are there 5 college football games this weekend that are as eccentric as Edward Scissorhands, but there’s a couple of other “events” going on as well. A couple hours north of Barstool HQ there’s a kinda famous pony race happening in Saratoga and a couple hundred miles west of Barstool HQ there’s a tiny little fight going down in Las Vegas late Saturday night. It’s Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor- No big deal. So let’s do this dance fellas.

  • 2017 Travers Stakes
    • The Travers is the greatest race the world’s greatest track has to offer…does that make it the greatest race in the all of the land? This year’s won’t have hype around the race like it did in 2105 when Pharaoh was going for all the marbles on capping his career with a Travers W. That was the most hyped up I’ve been for a non-Triple Crown in my whole life. Sadly Frosted and Keen Ice had to be douches and fuck everything up, but at least Pharaoh wound up winning the 2015 Breeder’s Cup before he went off to his sexual paradise. This year’s Travers is interesting as it’s the first time since 1982 that all 3 winners of the Triple Crown races are competing. Always Dreaming, Cloud Computing, and Tapwrit are in town! All the cool kids are down at Saratoga this weekend. So yesterday the Mayor of Saratoga, Office Manager Brett, was ranting to me about how good any Ortiz brother combined with Todd Pletcher is at the Spa.  Tapwrit, Jose Ortiz, and Todd Pletcher for the win at 7/2.
  • Mayweather/McGregor
    • I’ll be honest there….I have no fucking clue how to bet Boxing in the first place and now you’re throwing a UFC star in the ring? I’m just about as clueless as Vanilla Ice in the amish country. I threw the link to all of OddsSharks coverage of the fight above. All I can tell ya is if you want to bet on McGregor….many people are saying to go for a Knockout prop.
  • USF/San Jose State Over 71
    • Seeing USF’s name on the card for Saturday brought me joy I have not experienced since the first day of this year’s March Madness. The AAC is love. The AAC is life. While SJ State may not be the best scoring team around, USF just about is especially on the road as 4 of their last 5 road games went Over last season. The Bulls had the 92nd worst D in the league last year so hopefully that good mojo rubs off on the Spartans.
  • Twins/Blue Jays Over 9.5
    • These are 2 of my favorite over teams! The (early season) Mets, Yankees, Brewers, Rockies, and these 2 are my squads. Always have, always will be. Mix that up with one of them having Big Sexy and his 6.66 era on the bump and I couldn’t love it anymore. 9.5 is a tad high, but I’m sure it’ll all work out in the end. Thin air up in Ontario (if the roof is open).
  • Lynx/Stars Over 153
    • Someone that doesn’t know me may have thought that I would forget about the ladies of the hardwood now that all this other cool stuff is happening. No, no, no. The WNBA is still alive and well as Playoffs SZN is upon us. Now we have a Lynx/Stars matchup on a Friday night. The total is already kinda low and yet has gone over in 12 of these 2 teams’ past 17 meetings. The over has also hit in 4 of the Star’s last 6 games at home in San Antonio. Love it. Make sure to crack a cold one tonight at 8pm and tell your buddies you’re gonna be late to the pregame because the Lynx and Stars game is only streaming on Twitter.

That’s all for me, folks! As always you can find on Twitter for questions, comments, and concerns @glenny_balls on Twitter. Good luck to all this weekend. Win some dough- we’re gonna need it for Football Season.
