On Episode 115 of the Section 10 Podcast, the nicknames that will be worn on the backs of players’ jerseys in a couple of weekends have been revealed, and we’re going over all of them. Which ones we like, which ones we don’t like, which players whiffed on golden opportunities and so forth. I should mention that I’m kind of quiet on this episode because we recorded after midnight last night and I’m not entirely sure how thin the walls are in my apartment. No complaints yet, so I’ll be ramping up the vocals with each show until I hear someone banging on the wall.

Of course, we get into the Red Sox current 8-game winning streak, who’s been hot, who needs to pick it up, and how this upcoming Red Sox-Yankees series doesn’t have a big fight feel to it but that the Red Sox can use this opportunity to put some serious distance between themselves and their biggest threat in the division. We talk about how Chris Sale had his best start of the season in Tampa and compared that to what Corey Kluber of the Indians has been up to, which spawned a random tangent about what Kluber would be doing with his life if he weren’t a baseball player.

We get into how Pablo Sandoval has been doing since returning to the San Francisco Giants, and how Red Sox fans shouldn’t care how well or poorly he ends up performing. We also discuss Aaron Judge’s second half slide, and how using the Home Run Derby excuse is lame as fuck.

Down in the DM — If Steve, Pete and me were in a band, who would play what? If we took over the NESN broadcast, who would be the color analyst, who would do play-by-play, and who would be the sideline reporter? Would you rather have a dominant closer or Andrew Miller? What’s your favorite meal to eat while watching a Red Sox game?
