Secretary Mattis Doubles Down On President Trump's North Korea Comments

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis warned North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un on Wednesday that his regime and his people would be destroyed in a conflict with the U.S.
In a statement, Mattis said Kim should “take heed” of the “fire and fury” warnings from President Donald Trump and cease his threats and provocations.

“The United States and our allies have the demonstrated capabilities and unquestionable commitment to defend ourselves from an attack,” Mattis said, despite Kim’s boast of having nuclear weapons and the ability to deliver them against the U.S. mainland with Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs).

“Kim Jong-un should take heed of the United Nations Security Council’s unified voice, and statements from governments the world over, who agree the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) poses a threat to global security and stability,” Mattis said.

It appears as though Secretary Mattis is continuing his decades-long tradition of walking softly but carrying a big dick. Anytime you can use the phrase, “take heed” in life, you absolutely have to do it. You can be a little weenie of a person and say “take heed” and for at least a second, people will.

Senator McCain and others are upset that there’s no new Afghanistan plan seven months into the new administration which falls on the lap of Mattis. I’m sure the Senators want more decisive action from the Department of Defense. Hell, damn near everyone is sick of that war and just wants a way to get out of it. But you cant want a better figure head for the DoD.

Anyway, it turns out that war in Afganistan is actually hard and can’t be won by waving a wand and saying Avada Kedavra over the region.

That being said, you can want and expect more as far as a new plan goes, but you can’t expect more dynamite quotes. And, if North Korea doesn’t take heed, I have a feeling they won’t be able to uneat Mattis’ ass.
