Skaters And Police Clash In San Francisco. Shocker: Things Don't End Well For The Skaters
Source – San Francisco police say at least one police officer and multiple skateboarders were injured at Dolores Parkon Tuesday evening.
Videos posted to social media shortly before 8 p.m. show a confrontation between police and skateboarders at the park, located at 19th and Dolores Streets.
Gatpandan said one officer was injured and transported to the hospital. She also said that “ambulances were called for skateboarders who lost control while riding.”
Many videos and photos from Dolores Park show a large police presence at the park. Gatpandan said two San Francisco police patrol vehicle were vandalized as well. The extent and cause of the injuries suffered by people at the park was not immediately clear.
Here’s some advice: don’t block an entire street and you won’t get bludgeoned by the police. I feel like I’m writing this in 2001. I can handle “skaters” when they’re alone, one doesn’t bother me. It’s when they’re in groups that things start to get a little dicey. The mob mentality kicks in. They start grinding where they’re not supposed to grind, kick flipping over things they’re not supposed to kick flip over. Then they get all huffy when you tell them to stop doing it- like their “rights” are being violated. Which is never the case, people literally just don’t want their property destroyed.

The funniest part about this is, it’s adults who are doing the rioting. Not hormonal teens angry at mom and dad for imposing a curfew and making them eat dinner with the family like you’d expect. It can’t be easy being a skate boarder in San Francisco. Physically, that is. It’s all hills. One second your pumping up a forty-five degree angle, the next you’re breaking a land speed record.
Skaters vs police is one of those rivalries that’s never going to die. Like skiers vs snowboarders or patriots vs every other team. It did look like a wild time though.
