It’s said that there is no bond of fellowship between men that compares to the one forged in combat. In a hostile environment. Cut off from the civilized world. Surrounded by danger. Risking life and limb with every step you take. With nothing to keep you safe but the ones fighting alongside you. I wouldn’t claim to know what being anywhere near a war zone feels like, but I believe with all my heart that saying is true.
And that is extends to men and their military dogs. I can’t imagine any human could love an animal as much as these guys do the dogs that kept them alive, at the risk of their own lives. And vice versa. This video is proof of that. Kash, old, blind and separated from David Herrera, knowing him in an instant. No doubt remembering the hell they went through and happy they made it back alive. Just unbelievable. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll need a minute. The allergies I’ve had seem to be kicking in.
