This Woman Is A Hero For Refusing To Put Her Milky Boobs Away At A Public Pool

Source - On Thursday, Brei Theisen, a mother-of-one in Wood River, Ill., visited the Wood River Aquatic Center, a local pool where she swims every week. When her 14-month-old daughter Ava got hungry, Theisen hopped out of the water to sit on the pool’s edge and nurse. “I breastfeed at this pool all the time with no problem,” Theisen, 23, tells Yahoo Beauty, adding that while she doesn’t have to use a nursing cover, per Illinois state law which allows women to breastfeed anywhere in public, she always ensures she’s not exposed.

“Suddenly the manger approaches me and says, ‘I need you to be more discreet because you’re offending other people and I can’t allow that to happen,’” says Theisen. “I told him, ‘I’m not going to cover my daughter’s head in 90-degree weather — should the people at the food court also cover up?’” says Theisen.

“He said, ‘You don’t have a problem changing your baby in a public bathroom but you have a problem feeding her there?’” While a representative from the Wood River Aquatic Center tells Yahoo Beauty that the pool has “nothing to apologize for,” going forward, the staff will be trained in breastfeeding laws.

First of all, I am all for allowing women to breastfeed wherever and whenever they want. That being said, a hero? Really? I thought heroes were soldiers and doctors and basketball players. Not twenty-three year mothers who stand up to uneducated pool managers but maybe I’m wrong.

The poor guy probably didn’t realize what he was saying, “hey sweetie can you put your boobs away, you’re distracting people?” To add insult to injury he doubled down, “You don’t have a problem changing your baby in a public bathroom but you have a problem feeding her there?” Idiot. Do you not have the internet? Breast feeding in public is hot in the streets right now.

That being said I’m a little concerned about our mother of the year. Does she know about pool safety? Everyone knows it’s unsafe to swim for thirty miunutes after eating breastmilk. And what kind of example is she setting for her daughter, letting her eat in front of the other kids without sharing? Maybe she was going to breast feed the entire pool but we’ll never know. I’ll chalk this one up as a mulligan for both parties involved. He should’ve let her breastfeed and she should’ve brought enough milk for the whole pool.

In reality it probably wasn’t a big deal at all. Just another example of the liberal fake news media making big deal out of nothing. Sad.
