Self Described "Sassy" Teacher Of The Year Dominates Twitter In Oval Office Photo
Source - Nikos Giannopoulos, Rhode Island’s 2017 Teacher of the Year, posed next to President Donald Trump while holding a black lace fan and wearing a rainbow LGBTQ pride pin on his jacket. And Trump “loved it,”Giannopoulos told NPR.
Giannopoulos told NPR he opened the black fan as soon as he walked into the Oval Office because he is a “very sassy person.” He added that Trump “loved it!” “Trump complimented it right away,” Giannopoulos said. “He said, ‘I love the fan!’ And he told me I had great style. Then, when I was ushered in for my private photo with the president and Melania, I was told I should put [the fan] away,” he continued.
“So I just folded it up and held it at my side. But when it came time for the photo, I just asked the president, ‘Do you mind if I use the fan for the photo?’ He said, ‘Absolutely go for it.’ So I popped my fan and did my pose,” Giannopoulos added. Giannopoulos’ photo with Trump has gone viral since it was first posted online — it has garnered over 13,000 likes and nearly 4,000 shares so far.
WORK KWEEEEENNNNNNN. Alright that’s out of my system. I saw this story pick up steam over the weekend and thought it would die out by today- NOPE. Teacher of the year and very gay man Nikos Giannopoulos is still trending on Twitter. Just goes to show what a little planning and well placed prop can do for a photo. If I had only known using a fan would boost my likes I would’ve bought one years ago. Going to be tough to find one now that they’re the gay fidget spinner.
I’m of the belief that if you get invited to the White House you should go. I’m glad Nikos thinks the same; he could’ve easily been a little prick and decided to skip. Instead he rose above the political drama and delivered one of the gayest, most fabulous photos ever taken in the Oval Office.
Look at the head tilt, the smile, the necklace, the pin, the black-lace fan, the pose. He makes Melania look like she’s never set foot on a runway in her life. The only thing that could’ve made the photo gayer was if he was the lucky pierre in a Donald Trump/Mike Pence three way.

Chalk this one up as a win for the gays. Just in time for pride week no less. He’ll be able to get a free drink at any gay bar in America the rest of his life. My only suggestion is definitely never hashtag #instagay next time. Get those followers up.
