Sacramento Kings Wish Anthony Tolliver a Very Happy Birthday on Twitter, Cut Him Hours Later

The NBA is a tough, cut-throat business. One day you can be cherished as the chosen one to save a city, only to spurn them on national television and join a super team. Then on others a team can wish you a happy birthday on Twitter, and then release you on that same day. Just absolutely brutal for a guy that is generally heralded as a great guy with his teammates and fans.

Dude has been in the league for eight years and played for TEN different teams…TEN. He’s only stayed on a team for more than one year once in his whole career.

But now that I think about it, he must have been THRILLED to get out off the Kings. Dude is going to get paid a little more than $6.5 million per year for the next two seasons to NOT play for the Kings. Sounds like the dream to me.

It was maybe the best birthday gift he could have ever gotten. His family probably packed their bags as fast as possible and ran for the hills.

Also, can’t wait for the Knicks to sign him to a 4 year $100 million dollar deal.
