A Young and Happy Look At Dumpster Diving

When Caleb and I heard about an organized meeting where dumpster diving enthusiasts and novices alike could gather and rummage for trash, we didn’t have to think twice. I don’t know why I assumed it would be a group of like 75 people riding bikes around and joyously swan-diving into garbage piles. It turned out to be four freegans (free + vegan, the fancy name for trash collectors) along with Caleb, John Kelly and I.
I was lucky enough to try the watermelon, a juice and some delightful cookies that I brought back for an office. I also secured a fancy water bottle that I plan to re-gift and a phone plug that works when I hold my phone at a very specific angle.
The freegan life is certainly for me.
