OddsShark Presents Glenny & The Bets

It’s time to enjoy some Baseball, Hockey, and Basketball as these are the meats between our horse racing sandwich we’re currently chowing down on. The Derby did not bode well for Matt and I as he was all over Gunnevera like white on rice and my confidence was at an all-time high on Classic Empire. I literally don’t think I heard Larry Collmus say Gunnevera’s name once throughout the whole race. I’m still leaning heavily on Classic Empire to win the Preakness, but that could definitely change in the span of a week.

Let’s see what Matt is working with this week

Rough Kentucky Derby for me as the horses I had didn’t make a noise. Sort of a disappointing race from my perspective, with the sloppy track and Always Dreaming making it 5 favorites in a row or something. If Always Dreaming wins all three I will let Tex shave one of my eyebrows off.  Back to Baseball this weekend, pick your spots.

  • Cubs +120 (Butler) @ Cardinals -130 (Leake)
    • Eddie Butler got pulled up from Triple A to spot start for Brett Anderson, and while he’s been doing it right down there, on the road against a division rival is a tough way to break back into the league. The Cards are red hot while the Cubs are trying to figure it out, gimme the cards. Pick: Cardinals -130
  • Rays +155 (Cobb) @ Red Sox -170 (Porcello)
    • Despite being a Yankee fan, I have a weird infatuation with taking the Red Sox at home. Almost a full blown life issue. But anyway, the Rays are trash on the road and with Porcello on the bump, I’m cool with laying the juice. Pick: Red Sox -170

That’s all I got tonight, think 5 is a pretty perfect number in Celtics Wizards. Hard to back the road dog with every home team covering the series so far.

Who Cares Picks Record: 40-33 (Call it one L for the Derby)

Time for Balls to get back on a couple of Overs below

  • Celtics/Wizards Over 216
    • 216 ALL DAAAAAY. 4 out of 5 of the games over the course of this series have been extremely high-scoring with the exception of a Wizards blowout in game 3. There’s no reason to think that it wouldn’t happen a 5th time if we’re operating at that high-scoring clip of 80% on the series. My guy IT may score 200 himself.
  • Senators/Penguins Over 5.5
    • If Pittsburgh plays their game and overpowers that dumbass “Kanata Wall” 1-3-1 defense we should have a high-scoring game on our hands. I don’t think Craig Anderson can hold up much against that scary Pittsburgh Offense so I’m hoping for the Games 5 and 6 Marc-Andre Fleury to be out to play in game 1 of this series for a shootout. 5-3 Pens.
  • Mets/Brewers Over 9
    • This is a heart play, but I think it’s gonna happen. It would make me very happy if one of my favorite pitchers of all-time, Matt Harvey, tosses a shutout tonight in Milwaukee after last week’s escapades. Yet, I’m pretty sure Harvey’s officially done for and Adriana Lima still doesn’t follow him on Instagram. Combine that with the Mets being the best Over team in the league and I’m pretty confident the final score will be about 8-5

That’s all from Matt and I this week. As always feel free to find us on Twitter for gambling questons, comments, and concerns @mbrowner55 and @glenny_balls. Make some cash this weekend, fellas.
