Thailand Calls Facebook To Censor Their Own King

Source - Facebook has blocked users in Thailand from accessing a video that shows the country’s king strolling through a German shopping mall wearing a crop-top revealing his distinctive tattoos, accompanied by one of his mistresses.

The social media titan blocked the video, not because it’s obscene or infringes on its own terms and conditions, but because Thailand’s government deems it insulting to the king and in violation of the country’s laws banning criticism of the monarchy. “When governments believe something on the internet violates their laws, they may contact companies like Facebook and ask us to restrict access to that content,” a Facebook spokesperson told VICE News in an emailed statement.

They had no problem when he showed up to the military parade looking like Terry from Reno 911. One little trip to the mall and they jump on the phone with Facebook? Rude. Monarchs get no respect anymore.  England has a code word for when the queen dies and she’s not even dead yet. Cut the guy a break. Isn’t Thailand like 1000 degrees? Maybe he just forgot to change when he got to Germany. It’s not like he was hiding it, he was walking around the mall eating ice cream with a hooker. You can’t punish someone who didn’t know they were doing anything wrong.

For Facebook’s sake I hope they don’t try any of this in America. The countries already on edge this might push people over it.  Crop-tops have made a lot of people a lot of money and no one will be happy if they start disappearing off the Internet. The sad part is people would be lining up to work on the crop-top censor team just like they did for team death squad. Don’t sleep on Zuckerberg, he’s got the power.
