Caps Lose Game 4, Face Elimination on Saturday

Well, that sucked. Some bad penalties, some unlucky bounces, the Caps not being able to crack MAF because apparently he is the greatest goaltender of all time, and now we are down 3-1, facing elimination on Saturday.

Nights like tonight just make you sit there and wonder if curses are real or if you signed some contract at reincarnation time where you agreed to be a human but you had to get your heart broken every year until you die. I imagine you’re at Reincarnation HQ and the clerk is like “well we have an opening for a rabid raccoon, or you can be a Caps fan” and you are like “well how bad could that really be?” That’s really the only explanation I find plausible.

And let’s be clear, it’s not the refs fault. Even though this was called in the final 2 minutes of the game which was questionable to say the least.

Calls were missed on both sides, and the Caps should never have been in that situation to begin with, but it still sucks.

When it comes down to it, this is the best Caps team I’ve ever seen. Better than 2008, better than last year, better than the 1998 team. They’ve come back from being down 3-1 before, and all we can hope is they do it again. All they can do is take it one game at a time starting on Saturday and all we can do is hope for the best.
