Hockey Players Wouldn't Get Head Injuries If They Stopped Wearing Helmets Altogether

Mr. Ovechkin...The Stanley Cup Playoffs are Calling

Big hockey game tonight between the Washington Capitals (good) and the Vile Penguins (bad.) The storiline that everyone is discussing besides how much more handsome Capitals fans are then their Pittsburgh counterparts is the fact that Sidney Crosby will be missing the game with a concussion after clumsily falling over Alex Ovechkins skate after somehow getting hit in the head by his stick, into Matt Niskanin’s forearm. If concussions are real then they probably arent great to joke about specially given Sid’s past experience with them. However, I personally believe a concussion is just when a ghost gets knocked into your brain for a bit and you need father time to perform a seance until you get the cobwebs out. I’m sorry but thats just my beliefs. If you disagree theres the door.

I would just like to point out that although the PC thing to do is blame Niskanen, maybe some of the blame should be directed at hockeys one step forward, two-steps back approach to player safety when it comes to forcing players to wear helmets. Answer this- are people more carefull when they’re carrying their baby in their arms bareback, or pushing it in a stroller? Obviously they have to pay closer attention and be more aware of surroundings when they’re going commando with the kid as opposed to pushing it in a big cushioned car seat. Hockey is the same way- when you dont have a helmet your naturally more inclined to not let someone hit your head.

Back before hockey players wore helmets there were virtually no concussions look it up. Find me one diagnosed concussion before the year 1950. I’ll also have you note the same people accusing Ovechkin of dirty play are the same ones who say that he cant do anything right in the playoffs therefore woudnt their argument mean that even if he had been trying to hit Crosby in the face with his stick, he would of probably just missed and brained Holtby instead. Goes both ways.

Anyways some people from Pennsylavnia are suggesting that Alexander Ovechkin be supsended because one writer contracted a case of Pittsburgh flu and in his fever dream imagined that Ovie told his team in the players only meeting to injure Sidney Crosby. Its essentially the Yinzer equivlant of how CS Lewis wrote Alice in Wonderland which is ironic because maybe Crosby wouldn’t of been injured if he wasnt wearing that visor aka the looking glass. A helmet may as well of been a target as we’ve learned through NFL football. It just inspires players to use there heads as a weapon or in this case a shield.

Here are a few other examples of “high sticks” you tell me if they should of been penalized too:
