Wake Up With Mike Piazza Hitting A Grand Slam For The Second Consecutive Game (1998)

Executive decision — I’ve decided that the Barstool Baseball Wake Up blogs are always gonna be throwbacks. I got rid of the Wake Up blogs altogether once the season started last year, but I’ve continued them during the start of this season with highlights from the games from the night before. I miss the throwbacks too much, so they’re back and they’re here to stay.

I love Mike Piazza and I love watching dingers, so naturally I love watching Mike Piazza hit dingers, but I was so thrown off by the fact that this grand slam landed in the emptiest bleachers I’ve ever seen at a major league game in my life. I’m not even trying to be a dick, but that section had to have been closed off or something, right? The stadium seemed pretty packed just about everywhere else except for that part of the ballpark, but I mean there is literally NOBODY sitting out there. Not one single person. Very weird.
