NEWS: Washington D.C. Is Not A Baseball Town

It’s opening day, one of the greatest days of the year. Our social media feeds are inundated with politics from the left, right and in-betweens on a daily basis. You can’t take one day off D.C? Your city has one of the best hitters and pitchers on the planet. You have a star shortstop in the making. A first round exit from the playoffs is a mortal lock. Where is that Natitude?

You think this kind of crap would fly in Philly. You would be pelted with snowballs and D batteries the moment that sign is unfolded. We would taze you, while projectile vomiting on you. I believe it was Terrence Mann who said, “The one constant through all the years, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it’s a part of our past. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.”

Take a breather, eat a cheese steak, pop open a bud light lime and try and enjoy opening day for me one time Nats fans.
