The Road To WrestleMania Heated Up On WWE TV This Week

I bought my tickets and travel to Orlando for WrestleMania back in October, the second they went on sale. I was super excited for what will be my third ‘Mania, up until right before the Royal Rumble, when the card really started taking place, and my excitement died down. Months ago, it looked like we were getting marque dream matches like John Cena vs The Undertaker and AJ Styles vs Randy Orton, but those quickly vanished. Kevin Owens would no longer be walking into his second WrestleMania as the Universal Champion, because he had to drop that title to Goldberg, a part timer who’s appeared on television twice since. Everything has just seemed so transparent, so forced, to make “The ULTIMATE Thrill Ride” a mainstream spectacle as opposed to something hardcore fans like myself would enjoy.

I’m here to tell you “I’m sorry, I was wrong”. After this week’s RAW and SmackDown episodes, and overlooking the card one more time, I’m all in on WrestleMania 33. This poster was one of the main triggers to my change of thought…

I mean, I saw this and realized there’s only three matches on the whole card I’m not interested in. I don’t care for Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins vs Triple H, or Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton. Literally everything else has show stealing potential! Even two of the part timer matches excite me! Obviously Undertaker’s old and can’t move well, but the atmosphere combined with Roman being a ring-general should make it either amazing or horrendous, but being Taker hasn’t had a bad match since WrestleMania 30, I’m betting on the former. Shane and AJ is interesting because many are calling it a waste of Styles, and while it may be, he’s good enough to pull Shane’s limp body through a great match…and he may have to based on Shane’s last CTE filled performance:

But hey, he just may be crazy enough to make it work. Let’s recap what happened on TV this week.

Last night on Smackdown, Shane McMahon did Shane McMahon shit…

The Miz and Maryse fired shots in their hilarious segments entitled “Total Bella Bullshit”…

and Bray Wyatt had a spooky segment that didn’t suck!

A day earlier, on RAW, The Undertaker returned only to get speared the fuck outta…

Kevin Owens ambushed Chris Jericho in a brutal assault (this is the true main event, no matter what anyone says)…

and a new tag team emerged!

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve got the WrestleMania season bug, and I’m more than ready to be at The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
