An Atlanta News Team Honored Biggie With A Bunch Lyrical References During Yesterday's Broadcast And It Was Better Than Expected

I’ve seen videos like this in the past. Sometimes they are good, sometimes they are awful and completely forced. And this may be my Biggie bias talking, but I thought these two guys did as good a job as two square news reporters could do. I didn’t think that Frank Blankenship and Mark Arum would morph into a modern day Biggie and Puffy right before my eyes or anything, but Mark Arum definitely is on the path of having a funk flow to make your drawers drop slow. Plus the “Cats named Pablo in milked out diablos” line will always have a special place in my heart because I love me some Biggie rapping over an R&B hook.

My question is why didn’t this happen on a New York newscast? Is Chuck Scarborough too good to talk about how a murdered drug kingpin’s reign on the top was short like leprechauns? Is Maurice Dubois scared to say “You’ll get that H-Town in ya. You want that old thing back” when discussing Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner back together? Greg Kelly’s smug ass could have been 1% less unlikable if he had casually sprinkled in a couple of the Ten Crack Commandments during his broadcast while wearing a crooked crown. Again, that’s the least New York news anchors could have done. Lyrically they’re supposed to represent, not Atlanta. The Braves already stole Bartolo from under our noses. I don’t need Atlanta to somehow swindle the memory of the greatest big man to ever grace God’s green Earth from us next.

At least the representative from Biggie’s hometown district brought the heat in the House yesterday. As someone that doesn’t know or care about politics, that gesture would be enough to get my vote whenever I actually remembered there was an election going on.
