Yasiel Puig Had More Than $500,000 Worth Of Shit Stolen From His House In LA

NLCS - Chicago Cubs v Los Angeles Dodgers - Game Five

(TMZ) — Yasiel Puig is the latest victim in a string of celeb burglaries in L.A. — this time, crooks broke into the baseball star’s L.A. home while he was in Arizona with the Dodgers for Spring Training and made off with more than half a million bucks in bling. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports … burglars forced their way into the home while it was empty and made off with 3 high-end Rolex watches and other pieces of expensive jewelry. Sources tell us Puig had tapped a relative to stay in the house while he is away — but the crooks made their move when that person was away.

I know what you’re probably thinking — boohoo, take all your millions and buy some more ridiculously expensive jewelry that you don’t even need. I mean, yeah. I can’t say I feel too awful about it, but that still sucks. 2016 was a rough year with Yasiel Puig getting demoted to the minors, and having his name mentioned quite heavily in trade rumors, just because the Dodgers wanted to rid themselves of him. This isn’t exactly a hot start to the new season for him, either.

Yesterday, I wrote about Puig, because I think he’s a strong candidate to become the National League Comeback Player of the Year in 2017. Things were looking up for him this spring, and then boom. $500,000 worth of your shit — gone. It’s certainly not the end of the world for him, but to this point, Puig has made $24.5 million during his major league career, so $500,000 represents 2% of that. Not exactly ashtray money.

But if you ask me, this is just a small setback in the Year of Puig. He’s due for a W. Maybe not as much as Tex — nobody is as due as Tex — but Puig is still due.

PS — Hey Puig’s relative who conveniently wasn’t at the house at the time of the burglary, be more suspicious, bro.
