The Fact That The Atlanta Hawks Thought We Were Going To Believe This Proposal-Gone-Wrong Makes Me Angry

I hate this fake viral shit. HATE IT. I hate it so much that I didn’t even want to blog this video I felt like I needed to. Blogging it plays right in to their hands but I don’t care. The Atlanta Hawks should be ashamed of themselves. I almost took a different angle on this blog and said, “Anyone who believes this proposal-gone-wrong at the Atlanta Hawks game is an idiot” but then something amazing happened.

Not a single person on the internet believed that it was real

I honestly think there isn’t one person on the planet who thought it was real. Even soccer moms in the burbs who eat this shit up were calling it fake. It actually warmed my heart. Because if this were like 5-7 years ago everybody would be freaking out and actually believing that the guy dropped the ring. Not anymore. That’s what I call progress. There’s a lot wrong with the world and there’s a lot wrong with the internet but I feel proud to be part of a community that no longer gets faked out by shit like this. As far as the Atlanta Hawks, I bet this was Dwight Howard’s idea. This seems like something he would find HILARIOUS and whacky. The Hawks should be fined by the NBA every time they pull a stunt like this. I’d even go as far as to say their franchise should cease to exist all together.
