Marcus Stroman More Or Less Confirmed The Rumors That He's Been Beefing With Teammate Aaron Sanchez

Everybody loves a good Reddit conspiracy theory. I was sent this one about a week ago, and I sat on it, because there was really no substance to it, other than pure speculation and a little connecting the dots action.

The central focus of this Reddit thread was in regards to Blue Jays pitchers Marcus Stroman and Aaron Sanchez, and rumors that they might be beefing. For those who might not be familiar, these two were really, really, REALLY close at one point. They posted about each other on social media more than I’ve ever posted about any girlfriend I’ve ever had in my life. But just to illustrate the point, take a look for yourself.

There’s actually way more than that that each of them posted, but you get the point. They were tight as fuck. And then a Reddit user noticed that Stroman and Sanchez don’t follow each other on Twitter and Instagram anymore. It sounds really dumb, and it is, but we all know deep down that erasing someone from your social media is our psychological defense mechanism where our brains think that we’re actually erasing that person in real life. Like, they’re more or less dead now because you unfollowed them. In the simplest of terms, if you delete someone all over social media, you no longer want that person to exist.

After it was announced that Sanchez had changed agents and was now being represented by super agent Scott Boras, Stroman tweeted the following:

This is the equivalent of putting up an emo song lyric in your AIM away message after your girlfriend breaks up with you. We’ve all done it. Gotta guilt trip the girl who broke your heart into feeling bad and messaging you. It never worked, but we tried. If you’ve never done this, then you’re either too young or too old to have had AIM, or no girls wanted you in middle school. Regardless, this Reddit conspiracy theory picked up so much steam that Stroman was actually asked if it had any validity today.

I don’t know what happened here, and I don’t really care to know, but I’m assuming that Sanchez switching agents wasn’t the starting point of the rift, and you’re NUTS if you think I’m buying the “we’re still friends” line. No. You. Fucking. Aren’t. You can’t go from obsessively posting about each other to unfollowing each other on everything, and still be friends. Props to you for being civil for the sake of the team, but somebody done fucked up and ruined the bromance. Confirmed.
