Great News for 31 NFL Teams: The Colts Aren't Firing Anybody

.

NFL.comAs anticipated, the Indianapolis Colts are going to retain Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson for the 2017 season, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Friday.

We’re only six days in, and 2017 is already starting make me love it. Seriously, if I was going over the new year like a contractor inspecting a new house, one of the first items on my punch list would be “Colts keep the band together.” And we can already check that box.

The Holy Trinity of Incompetence will be back for at least another year. Jim Irsay, the lucky spermer owner with a penchant for prescription pills and dead mistresses is bringing back the GM who couldn’t keep his story straight on Deflategate and drafted Phillip Dorsett (2 seasons, 51 career catches) in the 1st round, plus the head coach who is the architect of the worst designed play in NFL history:

… will be reunited once more. The franchise that swam for the bottom blowing bubbles behind them in 2012 to get Andrew Luck only to go .500 each of the last two seasons in football’s worst division, isn’t making any changes.

And the best part is, these three guys hate each other. Grigson and Pagano can barely hide their mutual animosity. And last year “Comfortably Numb” Irsay admitted he went into a meeting ready to fire them both, but changed his mind “organically” as “tears fell” and “voices were raised” because “the football gods, whatever you want to call it, the powers that be, created this correct synergy.” I am not making that up. It’s like they all went into a sweat lodge together, smoked peyote and the spirits told Irsay to stay the course. And I couldn’t be happier.

So while teams like Buffalo have been smart enough to get out from under a horrible situation, Indy is doubling down. Again. And this is another year where they won’t be replacing the banner. Thanks, 2017.
