We Had A Goalie Goal In The ECHL Last Night

The end of December/beginning of January has been pretty good to Hurricanes’ prospect Alex Nedeljkovic. Last year he won bronze as the starting goalie for Team USA at the World Juniors. And last night he scored a goal for the Florida Everblades in the ECHL. I really can’t think of too many events in hockey that are more exciting and electrifying than a goalie scoring, which is why this play-by-play announcer should be ASHAMED of himself. I mean… are you for real for that call?

“Oh uh. Look out here. Oh my goodness. Nedeljkovic just scored a goal. Alex Nedelkjovic just scored a goal as the goaltender”. That’s quite literally the worst sports call in the history of broadcasting. I don’t care if you’re on the opposing side. It doesn’t matter. Just as the ECHL is a stepping stone to get to the NHL for the players, the same goes for the broadcasting crew. And after that abysmal performance, this kid seems like he’s hardly even qualified to call a JV game. This shit only happens once every few years. Figure it out, sack up, and give this the call it deserves. Gonna need to get Stingray Steve on the phone to do this one a little justice.

Elsewhere in the ECHL over the past few days, this game between the Colorado Eagles and Utah Grizzlies was the definition of Hard Dick Hockey.

Love this league. Just a bunch of wild men out there playing the game the way it was meant to be played.
