Bet You Didn't Know That Trevor Bauer Was A Fire Flames Rapper
OHHHHHH SHIT. Trevor Bauer went to high school in the mean streets of Santa Clarita, California, and was writing the illest rhymes with some other dude he went to high school with. I totally expected to listen to this track and have it be a joke, but Bauer and his boy are dead serious, rapping about the haters, getting bullied in high school, never getting laid, and nobody thinking they’d amount to anything. But now they get all the bitches and the haters couldn’t be saltier. William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita overlooked the wrong dudes. From the bottom of the barrel to gushing blood all over a mound in Toronto on national television, and celebrating an American League pennant in an arm condom. Who’s laughing now?
After hearing this track from back in the day, which I’m assuming is his Stairway to Heaven, I was curious if there was more out there. That’s when I came across an article that Bauer apparently wrote a diss track about his former batterymate, Miguel Montero, back in 2013.
This offseason, the Indians acquired highly regarded pitching prospect Trevor Bauer from the Diamondbacks in a three-way trade that sent Shin-Soo Choo and Jason Donald to Cincinnati. Bauer brought with him his own unusual warm-up regimen, a fledgling hip-hop hobby, and a reputation for stubbornness that was apparently in part fostered by his difficulty synching up with his former catcher, Diamondbacks star Miguel Montero.
Now, mere days after Montero told ArizonaSports.com that Bauer “never wanted to listen” and “thinks he’s got everything figured out,” Bauer’s rap group – Consummate 4Sight – has released a track called “You Don’t Know Me” to diss someone who “hides behind a mask” for spreading rumors that Bauer refuses to listen.
I love it. Unfortunately, his Soundcloud has since been deleted, but I’m sure it was great. You want to make baseball great again? We need more diss tracks. None of this behind closed doors, resolving problems like adults bullshit. You have a bullpen that doesn’t go well? Diss track. Guy in the locker next to you is attracting so much media that you can’t get to your shit? Diss track. Teammate of yours is 0 for his last 19, but he still acts like he’s the shit? Diss track. Guy in your bullpen has given up the lead in three of his last four appearances? Diss track. They wanna take Chief Wahoo away? Diss track. Air your grievances in a public forum through creativity and fire flame bars. That’s what the game needs.
Bauer actually spit some heat on the Cleveland Indians once he got there in 2013, but I NEED an updated version of this song like I need air to breathe.
And I can’t write a blog about diss tracks without including the hottest new diss track on the streets. Also, because Ria.
