Bruins Get Kicked In Balls With Late Deflection, Lose To Wild 1-0

You can sum up last night’s 1-0 suck loss to boring-ass Minnesota in the two GIFs above. Tuukka Rask is seconds from getting the Bruins another point until Mikael Granlund’s saucer pass (shot?) found Adam McQuaid’s left shin pad to beat the goalie. Torey Krug has a yawning net but defenseman makes a great play to prevent an easy goal.

Given the way the Bs have been playing, there’s really not much to bitch about. Last night was just a tough, hard-fought loss, the type of game that’s gonna happen a few times a season (like in Montreal). They might have deserved to win but for whatever reason, they didn’t. Just gotta chalk it up and move on. They’re back at it tomorrow night when Winnipeg comes to town.

A few more buds for your Friday bowl…

*The offense has dried up a bit lately, making Rask’s stellar play even more important. Brad Marchand has certainly cooled off and not having David Pastrnak last night (undisclosed injury) does not help. But they can’t rely on Tuukka to only give up one goal every night.

*Jimmy Hayes has yet to tally a point in 15 games (though he did notch the shootout winner in Tampa). Just an nightmare season so far for him. He played 11:06 last night on the fourth line. Claude has given him some power play time lately but that hasn’t helped him get off the schnide.

*Despite the loss, Rask’s stats improved to 1.49 and .947. Tough to imagine where the team would be without him.

*Sending best wishes to Dennis Seidenberg, who suffered a broken jaw via slap shot last week. The ’11 Cup winner was having a marvelous season on Long Island with 4-4–8 totals until he was felled. But being the savage that he is, he’ll probably be back earlier than expected.
