Fans Should Sing The National Anthem At Every NHL Game

Last night was Military Appreciation Night in St. Louis. So to show the Troops how much they love them, the Blues asked all the fans to sing the national anthem. First off, shoutout to the Troops. Second off, shoutout to the fans of St. Louis for actually almost being more heroic than the Troops themselves with this rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Because it was beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye and a Bald Eagle feather to my pubes. Kinda mad at Panger for cutting off the video before the Scottrade Center hit the high note but all is forgiven.

Anyway, I firmly believe that all NHL games should start with the fans singing the National Anthem. I know that you Bruins people have Rene Rancourt. I know that Blackhawks people love Jim Cornelison. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Flyers’ anthem singer Lauren Hart gets proposed to upwards of 100 times per game. They can still stick around to start off the anthem each night, but then they have to hand over the reigns after “O say can you see”. Tell me I’m wrong.

And the best part about this idea is now we can make fun of Islanders fans for hating America since only like 6 people show up to the Barclays Center before the puck drops.

P.S. – Chief will have more on the actual Hawks/Blues game later.
